The aftermath of superbly long holidays. I felt like I'm an alien when I entered my room. Gosh, the room doesn't even look like a room. It was in a big mess. Our third semester will commence in July for 7 weeks and the second semester would be somewhere in September. Enough said, Haziq turned 20 few days ago, pity him he was smashed with eggs and poured with stocking juice. Anyways, Happy Birthday Haziq! Guess what, our final exam are here, and some of us still have to sit for MUET on Saturday, that will be tomorrow (good luck guys!). Just sat for our philosophy paper moments ago and oh boy it was quite tough. Got my facts jumping here and there. 3 more papers to go and then it's holiday!! YEAAA!!!

Sadly for some of us, the lifespan of our holiday has been shortened from 5 months to 3 months. Thank God for that, I don't know what to do in such a long holiday, that would be almost half a year. We are going to have a short course for 7 weeks starting from July 4 till August 19, 2011 comprising of 3 papers. The Pokemons that will teach us during the course are Mdm Iramon, Mdm Hairainimon and Mr Nursarehanmon.

Anyways, to end this post I wish all of my course mates good luck for the exam and MUET. All of us are busy finishing our assignments, and getting ready for our first paper on the 13th of April. Now we are doing our LAW assignment in class under the supervision of Mdm Hairani. So nice of her willingly to help us with it. Seemly the March holiday had restored the energy we've lost previously and hoping that it will be sufficient for us to survive.

Most of us are still in our holiday mode (I am).
Nigel L Williehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10277989833742173599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3079439206743309340.post-22830269979740031112011-03-07T12:21:00.004+08:002011-03-07T13:45:35.180+08:00As Busy As a BeeWe are getting our hands out of the pocket this month. The road is getting tougher day by day and a lot of us are still not ready for it. Before the upcoming March holiday, we have to prepare for our community service at SMK Lopeng Tengah, have to make sure the paperworks are done (good luck Freddy). The community service has to be carried out before the exam which would be in April. Aside from that, we are "tsunamatized" by Educational Psychology and we have to perform a play for our Literature assignment.

Last Friday, during our first meeting for our community service, we came out with various of choices what should we do for this semester. After going through 3 hours of discussion (which was very tiring, stressing and agonizing), we decided to carry out the service at a village in Bekenu. I text Madam Maria about it and our suggestion was treated as a pile of garbage that was ready to be burned. All of us got tensed up about it and wished that they told us earlier what they want us to do for our community service. We have to reconstruct almost everything and the 3 hours discussion was for nothing.

As the weeks pass by, the burdens keep on coming. I don't know about my classmates but I'm totally worn out this semester. Have to change my tires soon to keep up with the phase. Seems to me everyone is moving faster than I am. Hoping everything would turn out okay at the end of this month.

P/s: Halil is getting older this year (one year older that is). Anyways, research proved that individuals who celebrated birthday the most, live the longest.
Nigel L Williehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10277989833742173599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3079439206743309340.post-83866712387674444252011-02-22T12:15:00.003+08:002011-02-27T12:47:56.262+08:00In Despair
This would be the first post of February. Our lives has been topsy-turvy lately, full with task to be done and uncertainty of some subjects. We are going to organize an activity for the upcoming language week which would in March. We are actually more of the sidekick rather than the main character in this activity. Majority of us are still in the state of obnubilation regarding two particular subjects, Philosophy of Malaysia Education and Educational Psychology. Well, for one thing, both of the subjects are very philosophical and a lot of us are not philosophy material. Guess what, our philosophy subject is in English Language which add hundreds of pounds on our back (most of us) and yet we just found the book translated in English Language this week. As for psychology, the books that we are suppose to use have not arrive yet and our lecturer ordered it at the beginning of January. Guess we are on planet Mars which cause the delay.

Anyways, enough of that, our next holidays are just around the corner, that would be in March. We were planning to have a class trip but due to a lot of constraints we have to postpone the trip.

We had our class GC last week and the class look good. Although we do need to do a lot of touch-up afterwards.

Guys, I think it's time for us to buckle up because we are about to hit the top gear on this bumpy road ahead of us. Chow for now. (I don't think the "chow" spelling is correct).
Nigel L Williehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10277989833742173599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3079439206743309340.post-67516311488650368562011-01-12T11:14:00.002+08:002011-01-12T11:41:49.826+08:00Another Revamp
It has been ages since the last post. We are a now currently cruising in our degree programme, and there are lots of big wave we need to surf out. Firstly I would like to welcome our new members of the family . They are Ahmad Azrul from IPGKTAR, Ilanggo, Jennie and Rachel from IPGKGaya. Adding another 4 to the 16 of us. Class is getting bigger and hopefully better. We have just entered our degree programme a couple of weeks ago. We are twinning with the National University of Malaysia and are 2 weeks behind schedule. We are taking Kemahiran Bahasa Melayu this semester and I'm loving it!

The institute's assembly was the day all of us got a slam from the Head of Students' Affair Dept, and yes, it was excruciatingly agonizing. Looking bad in front of other teacher trainees was not the best feeling all of us would love to experience. Being a TESLian, we just keep our head held high. (and we don't give a damn, a shit, an ass about it).

Hey Barb, I think we need another revamp since we have new family members. But no pressure. You can do it anytime you want. That is all for this post. Will be continue in another. :)
Nigel L Williehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10277989833742173599noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3079439206743309340.post-28366520638368326392010-11-12T21:46:00.000+08:002010-11-12T21:46:02.194+08:00Loosen Up
I'm a few days late but I still want to congratulate my awesome course mates for surviving it through the pain and agony of 11.5 hours (do the maths) papers. It's a notch higher I admit but with God's willing, we're gonna stay put and see those familiar faces again next semester yeah?

I don't know how others feel but time really escapes my sight. Without knowing it, it has already been one and a half year of foundation. Perhaps the heavy workload and constant pressure from the lecturers, we hardly notice the number of days and weeks we endured in this place. Being one of a kind or, safe to say, left out in this place taught us lots of undefined experiences. Shit happens all the time, but we're still holding on to each other. We overlook it and the existence is barely there.

Deep inside me, things may have changed so drastically over the years. Unnecessary dramas and disputes, misunderstandings and disappointment are all there. But it won't be happening if it's of no reasons, right? That is how we develop individually and eventually a very firm, strong group. We're no longer the cocky ones, and maybe we can still be those cocky ones - heads held up high but with brains and versatile personalities. So, what's wrong being that?

The dream is to soar up high. So many things to achieve next year with more gap closing in between our class and other classes. We'll manage this once again, like we handle our foundation year. Hoping to see an enhanced unity and love for each other (but I'm not gay), it would be the best for us. No more doing work alone, no more gossiping around each other's back (applies to me too!) and try to give and take (MAYBE procrastinate more). Accommodate each other's concerns so that we'll back each others up.

And again, nothing in this place can be achieved individually. To see everyone smiling up there, triumphing over the victory and success is really more worthwhile than achieving your own success and yet, you are all alone. Who likes being alone? No one (reckoning everyone likes companion, no matter what gender). The satisfaction and what's far beyond are what we hold deeply.

So enough of the emotional rants. Allow me to thank you all for everything you had done for the sake of me. I really, really appreciate everything, from every angle possible. Another tide is gone and I'm all ready for another upcoming current. Thank You.

P.S Hi Ilanggo, Rachel, Jennie and Azrul! =)
Barbarahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00442851195224278390noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3079439206743309340.post-79584820629062979322010-10-13T10:02:00.003+08:002010-10-13T10:16:45.259+08:00Us Against MUET

Now, as you can see from the title and the logo above, we are going to have two battles of our life as a teacher trainee including our Final Exams. The logic is we need to get at least a Band 4 for our entry requirement to enter UKM which is our second parent after IPS. We are going to twin with them and we will be under them starting next year for our first-year-degree program. Spooky isn't it. Not just we have to pass our finals but also to get a Band 4 for our MUET.

The shock was inevitable when we were informed by our lecturer and since we missed out on the registration for year-end MUET 2010. The final match was actually on the 24th of September but something was on during that particular day (am being superbly sarcastic, as long what I had expected did come true). It was a good thing though, more time for us to prepare our text. The motion was "Sambutan Kemerdekaan Cerminan Bangsa". TESL got to be the government and Halil is the Prime Minister, myself as the 2nd Minister, Haziq as the 3rd Minister and Khatika as the reserve. During the previous round, we were informed on the day of the competition if we would like to join or not. I still remember it was during LDs class we made our decision which was in the afternoon and our match was later that night.

Then we received the motion to be debated that night and began to construct our text. As the quarter-final matches was on the go we went through a lot of sources to find our materials and then we were opt to change the motion since one of the classes forfeited and the class that managed to go against us opt that if we were to change the motion that was to be debated on the quarter-final match. We accepted their offer and began to construct another new text. Later that evening, we have a class dinner and yet we have to finish preparing the text before our class dinner because the match was right after our dinner and we did not have enough time to go through our text.

We were up against Pengajian Agama 1 and their team was well prepared than ours. However, even though it was a tough match, we managed to go through to the final. Long story short, we were quit pissed off because the final match was postponed and the organizers would like to change the motion but since we have prepared our text for the final match we decided to stick to the old motion. As I wrote in the previous paragraph, the motion is "Sambutan Kemerdekaan Cerminan Bangsa". We thought the motion was "Sambutan Kemerdekaan Mencerminkan Bangsa"and we prepared based on what we thought the motion was. What a chaotic mess. I could have done better, oh well the skills had gone kaput after all. I'll come up with a better one. As for now, how do you like the new look? =) It's so minimalistic, no? Blogger finally allows the easy design app feature, FINALLY.

Thanks to Nigel for allowing me to contribute to this blog. You're awesome. This blog was his idea. He owns this, I have no patent at all. Ha ha. I enjoy writing so perhaps I could contribute a little something to spice things up. Or some BOOM BOOM POW going on in this blog. Yes, that's my favourite phrase for now.

People of TESL Kingdom,

Raya holidays are coming to an end. How's yours? Mine is going great despite the upcoming birthday. Being old is one thing I wish I can escape. All the craps of I'm getting wiser as the year goes well remain as craps. The digit grows and it's very depressing =( I know some royals don't wish to be back in the institute and some do. Like your highness here. Drop by and tell us your mixed feelings. It's our shack so shake it hard with your say, people.

And, assignments are such a bore. Holidays should remain as holidays, not some nerd camp going on. I feel nothing else but a nerd. Such a bummer, no? You can't kick some ass, go skinny-dipping (my dream!) and even out for a movie. Very limited time and I wonder why. Why do assignments even exist? Urgh.

The ones who is going to be old this month is me, Leon, Allen and Barb. Since SCR was fully booked, we decided to go to Sajian Warisan to have our dinner. The food is delicious and the price is 'delicious' too. Anyway, it was worth it. We arrive there around 1830 and it was fully crowded with people (of course la people, what could it be fully crowded with). The last time we went there it was not that crowded. We met some of the teacher trainees there. Since it was the last day before holidays a lot of them decided to go out for dinner considering it is almost Hari Raya. By the way, Happy Raya to all the muslims and muslimins who are reading this post. Now lets continue the story of Sajian Warisan.

We took our seats and went through the menu. After deciding what to eat, we call out for the waiter. Now, since it was way past "waktu berbuka puasa" one of my friends got angry because it was very hard to call for the waiter (even though the waiter did see us calling him). He shouted at the waiter and all of the customers around could hear him and looked at us. Proving that the waiter is deaf. Then, still no response from the waiter. Oh my G. We felt like killing the waiter and we did not. Anyway, after a few hours (that is too hyperbole), minutes actually then he came. Some of us have to finish our dinner early including me. We have a debate (in Bahasa Malaysia, parliamentary) competition to attend later that night. Irony twist right? Now, let me quote something from Anita Sarawak. "jangan pandang ku sebelah mata". He2.

We won the match against PA 3 class. We manage to enter the final which would be held on September 24 at Dewan Muhibbah (some people call it Hall of Unity). We entered the competition last year but we lost with dignity (judges were bias and not qualified) to the only KS class in the institute which consists of our YDP.

Anyway, congratulations to my comrades; Halil, Haziq and Khatika.

Nigel L Williehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10277989833742173599noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3079439206743309340.post-53677049786817120162010-07-27T23:28:00.003+08:002010-07-28T00:24:22.418+08:00WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?
That was the first question popped out by someone at 8.00p.m, July 27, 2010. The reality of the case is like this:

Once upon a time, the TESL class were instructed to create a role play out of "To Kill A Mockingbird" Chapter 12. The class decided to rehearse inside one of the majestic grand hall inside the country. After "booking punya booking" they got to use the hall.

Then, the time has come for the TESL class to use the hall. But, out of nowhere PEASANTS started to appear. It made the TESL class confused because the TESL class have booked the hall for the Kings and Queens Ball, but instead of Kings and Queens Ball, it turned out to be PEASANTS Ball which was very insulting considering it was way low compare to the TESL class standard.

Then the KING of peasants came and asks the TESL class "What are you doing here?" Because the TESL class is full of Kings and Queens, so they have to give way for the PEASANTS since the PEASANTS never been to such a place before and the TESL class have to be tolerance because the TESL class' dignity is higher compare to the PEASANTS. And the TESL class lived not so happy but angrily life.

The end.

P/s: This story has nothing to do with the dead and alive.
Nigel L Williehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10277989833742173599noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3079439206743309340.post-41387631894371271742010-07-27T11:56:00.006+08:002010-09-10T15:54:16.361+08:00To Kill or Not To Kill A Mockingbird

Leon.
